Ryan became a career, professional fire fighter April 2000 in Kitsap County (Dist. 18, IAFF Local 2819). In 2003 he was hired as a City of Tacoma fire fighter, where he is now holds the rank of Firefighter/Paramedic.
As an active participant, he was appointed the Political Action Coordinator in 2002 for IAFF Local 2819 and held that position until Tacoma (IAFF Local 31) hired him. He joined the Executive Board in 2009, and currently serves as the President since 2012.
Ryan comes from a strong Union family. He dedicates his time and passion serving his Brothers and Sisters on the frontline.
Currently, Ryan proudly serves the Citizens of Tacoma on Engine 10.
Ryan serves as the Washington State Council of Firefighter 6th District representative, representing Tacoma.
Matt became a proud member of the Tacoma Firefighters IAFF Local 31 on April 24, 2000. Matt continued to become more involved with Local 31 after he completed his first year with the Tacoma Fire Department. He has served the members of our Local as a Trustee, Recording Secretary, Executive Board Member, as the Vice President and now Secretary-Treasurer. Matt currently works in downtown Tacoma at Station 1 driving Ladder 1, and has done so since 2003.
Alex is a second generation Tacoma firefighter and was hired in March of 1996. He is currently assigned as the CSR Safety Lieutenant. Alex helped to launch the Jimmy Cason memorial golf tournament, continued with it for it's first four years, and has been the event organizer again since 2013. He has served as the Tacoma Firefighter's Golf Association's President and has also been the coach of the Local #31 slo-pitch team. Alex enjoys camping, boating, and golfing with his family as well as playing slo-pitch. Alex was elected to the Executive board in November of 2011, served as the interim Vice President, and was elected to Vice President in 2013.
